It’s been quite difficult to update our blog due to lack of computer and internet. It’s been a mad few days. We shall try to summarise.

After our epic journey to Dallas we finally checked into our hotel at 10pm knowing full well we needed to leave a few short hours from then. We went to find the train station so that we could leave early. We stood outside the hotel for a few minutes when the hotel shuttle bus stopped (it goes to Downtown Dallas.) THe driver, Daniel, gave us a lift to the station and on hearing our ridiculous plan offered to pick us up at 5am for a small charge (some extra work on the side for him.) To his word he was there at 5am…..and a bag of fruit for us. He said he was worried that we wouldn’t be able to get breakfast so brought some for us. A truly genuine man.

Then biggin our journey. Flight #3 was to Washington followed by flight #4 to New York. We then catched a shuttle to the YMCA, Central Park. The driver was very into his computer games and we all reminisced of games of old for a while. We picked up some more passengers and we talked all the way into NY about England; the woman had also spent time in Torquay. It seems that Torquay has its fair share of American visitors. We checked into the YMCA was on 63rd. Our room was the size of a shoe box, but what more do you need? We ditched out bags and headed straight out, walked through Central Park and down broadway where we tasted out first American burger. We walked around Times Square and took in the Empire State late at 10pm. We arrived back at our digs. I walk into the shared bathroom to brush my teeth where I find a sizeable man massaging his head with shampoo in front of the mirror. He was stark bollocks naked. unperturbed, I opted to use the furthest sink away from him. It was broken. I ended up standing next to him. Out of the corner of my eye I could see his tackle swinging about as he furiously washed his hair.

The next day we left early to catch a boat to Staten Island which goes right past the Statue of Liberty. After arriving on the island we quickly discovered there’s nothing there so we headed straight back and walked for miles around Wall Street, China Town, Up the Rockerfella, Little Italy and Grand Central Station.

The next morning we went back to the airport to collect our car. We are now the proud hirers of a bright red Chevvy. We drove from the Airport to Washington, via a cb, awful weather and excessive amounts of wrong turnings. But we made it to the ‘New Corralton’ metro station in one piece and waited for our train to Washington Metro Centre. Well Washington was stunning the first stop was the White House to see ye our buddy Obama for a game of hoopz. WE then drove over night to Ashville and we’re welcomed by two hungover women, Julie and Nettie, which is where we are now. Thry have been more than hospitable. After drinking the afternoon away we went to their local bar. We drove around the town (it appears that people are happy to drive after 10 Bud Lights!) It was one of the funniest car journeys. We carried on drinking in the bar where we talked to all the locals. A man named Steve assured Loynes that he could arrange for him to get laid if he so wished. I filmed everyone in the bar saying that Tom Dark is a massive wanker.

Hungover, we are just getting ready for Nashville….

I would love to stay and write everything that has happened over the past 24 hours, but we need sleep before getting up in a few hours to go to New York. Many a story including a lost Taxi driver and the petrol station worker who just told us he used to live in Torquay….
